17th Annual Meeting
at Oxford

The 17th UK Chinese Association of Resources and Environment (UK-CARE) Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held in University of Oxford on the 7th October 2017. Over 40 delegates attended the meeting from Chinese Embassy in the UK, universities and associations in the UK including University of Oxford, University of Reading, University of Bristol, University of Nottingham, Cardiff University, University of Sheffield, University of York, British Geological Survey (BGS), Environment Agency (EA) and commercial sponsors from mainland China. Seventeen attendees orally presented their academic work followed by heated discussions with the audience. Prizes were awarded to two students for their outstanding performance during the oral presentation.
The UKCARE was one of the few Chinese acadmic associations in UK continously running after the establishment in 2000. Thanks for the support from the Chinese Embassy in UK. Thanks the effort from the committee members.

Resources and Environmental Collaboration in the "Golden Era" of Sino-British Relations

General Programme

The one day meeting ran from 10:30 am to 16:30 pm, Saturday 7th October 2017.

Presentations

19 abstracts have been received among which 18 were accepted. 17 speakers attended the meeting to give a 10 mins talk about their research.

Prize

Prizes were awared to two students, Miss Yuanyin and Mr Rui fan, for their outstanding presentation.

New Chairman

Dr. Lei Wang from BGS was elected as the new Chariman of UKCARE during the meeting. Prof. Dawei Han was chair of the UKCARE committee from 2014.
